Session with Edmund To (CTO @GSBN) & Ryan Rugg (Head of Digital Assets @Citibank)

The vulnerabilities of global trade were laid bare in the wake of the Covid pandemic, making it clearer than ever that its past time to digitise the logistics networks. But the age old question remains: how do you get companies to trust and share critical information on a decentralised, open network?

There have been some notable attempts (and failures) that have helped lay the groundwork for new approaches to governance, security and, critically, data privacy. This session will be a deep dive into the Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN) and what’s driving its success as a second generation trade network.

Edmund To, CTO of GSBN, and Daniela Barbosa, Executive Director of Hyperledger Foundation, will also cover the evolution of distributed ledger and related technologies, as well as new models for governing trade networks that deliver on the promise of decentralisation, delivering scale, efficiency, reliability, cost savings and more.
